This is one of our guest rooms…a calming blue color with a daybed and lots of books to read while relaxing… This room had a sleep sofa that turned into a double bed when pulled out…however after pulling it out, it took up lots of room which made it difficult to make the bed and get around the room…
So we got a twin mattress and boxspring, Victor attached small wheels to the bottom and now I can just pull it out from the wall to get it ready for guests and then just wheel it back, so there is plenty of room to walk around!!!
I took this photo with a fisheye lens that clips onto to my iPhone 7 plus…I just love how you can see the whole room, somewhat distorted but still lovely…almost like a Christmas ornament:) Before when we had the sleep sofa, the bed covered the whole rug…now there is much more room… This is my grandson Parker’s room when he comes to stay with us…at 4 years old he has plenty of room to play…I make the bed up with Paw Patrol sheets and I put children’s books on the night table because he just loves books:) When our niece Courtney stays with us, I take the plants out so, she being in her 20’s, has plenty of room to spread out…it’s truly a wonderful guest room!! But also…
it’s a relaxing place for me to plop down when I want to take a nap… Actually, I go through times when I have a hard time sleeping at night…on those nights I can just move to this room so I won’t bother Victor with my tossing and turning…I can try to get back to a resting state by meditating. Sometimes I listen to a guided meditation on youtube…this is one I like, it’s a half hour chakra meditation which is energy centers in your body according to yoga tradition…press here to listen…
I also just recently found a drink recipe to have before bedtime that helps promotes sleep…It’s a healthy spicey creamy drink that is packed with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant ingredients…I’ve seen lots of recipes for Golden Milk, but I like this one because I had the ingredients at hand…
Calming Bedtime Golden Milk
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk (or any milk you enjoy, I used flax milk)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 Tablespoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
Add ingredients to a small saucepan, and heat to just before boiling. As the milk heats, whisk ingredients until it becomes frothy and smooth (about 3-5 minutes). Transfer to a cup, I used a frother to whip it up like a latte… and enjoy!!
🙏🏽
I would love to be in that room! Feels so relaxing. Thank you for sharing the recipe of Golden Milk. I’ve tried it two times, didn’t like it. Never added a vanilla and ginger, so this might help 🙂

Thanks Ilze!! You might want to add honey to it also. It tastes a little like chi tea..,an acquired taste, I think:)
