This has been a very busy week for me, with traveling home from seeing Gina and family on Monday, caring for my mom, having her 98th birthday, a snowstorm on my day off and working at school…I haven’t had much time to work on my blog…So I gathered together an outfit that I have been wanting to photograph and brought it to my mom’s…It was really fun setting it up and showing her how I take the pictures…However I needed something to add to the outfit, so I looked around her house…A teapot, perfect??…what could be better to go with a tapestry jacket, jeans and pearls??? So Victor and I will be going to a casual restaurant in Boston this weekend…I thought this would be a nice outfit to wear…casual with jeans and brown comfy booties for walking, but dress it up with a tapestry jacket and ivory lace jersey under it, deep purple scarf, to bring out that color from jacket and top it off with these dressy pearls (one of my favorite jewelry that I’ve made)!!
One way I like to express myself is through fashion?? To me, it’s an art, combining colors and textures…my favorite color is red…I seem to gravitate towards any variety of red…with spring peeking around the corner I will be breaking out the purples and pinks…
So it’s no surprise when I had to wear a teeshirt to school for “Spirit Day”(a day for displaying our school’s Core Values, which are, Courage, Pride, Excellence, Respect, Responsibility and Inclusion) I wore a scarf with it to match, because I don’t like wearing teeshirts, at all!!! But because I had to wear a school teeshirt and each value came in a different color, I choose Courage, for a couple of reasons…1. I’d like to promote Courage to our younger generation…more than any other time in our history, our children need Courage to stand up for what is right and just in this world…2. It was red…
